ZEBRA SWALLOWTAIL
Eurytides marcellus
Found throughout both Alabama and Mississippi, flying year round but more common in the spring. The only white swallowtail in our region. Sexes similar but the summer form is larger and has longer tails than the spring form. White background color with black "zebra stripes" on both fore and hindwings. Lower surface of hindwing has a red median band.
