Sympetrum corruptum
(Variegated Meadowhawk)
Sympetrum corruptum is a largely Western species that is occasionally seen in Alabama and Mississippi, usually as a migrant. When breeding does occur, the habitat is generally open ponds. Many individuals, however, are seen away from the water.
