VICEROY
Limenitis archippus
A widespread species that is often found near streams and other wet areas where the caterpillars feed on willows. Wings are orange with black margins and veins and with scattered white spots. Color and pattern similar to Monarchs and Queens, which the Viceroy mimics but can be distinguished by the presence of a black line running across the hindwing.
