MONARCH
Danaus plexippus
Occurs throughout both Alabama and Mississippi; most often seen in open habitats. Both dorsal and ventral surface of wings bright orange with contrasting black veins and margins. White spots along fore and hindwing margins. Hindwing of males has a black spot along the inner most vein.
