Helocordulia uhleri
(Uhler's Sundragon)
Helocordulia uhleri is uncommonly encountered in Alabama, almost always above the Fall Line in the northern part of the state; the species is not known to occur in Mississippi. It is very similar in appearance to H. selysii, but H. uhleri has small amber spots at the bases of the wings. Habitat similar to that for H. selysii -- small, forested streams, usually where flow is restricted.
