Celithemis eponina

Celithemis eponina, the largest species in the genus, is another common species that occurs throughout Alabama and Mississippi. The habitat includes a variety of lentic areas such as ponds, lakes, marshes, and reservoirs, where the colorful adults can be seen perching on the tips of vegetation in fields near the water.
