Amphiagrion saucium
(Eastern Red Damsel)
This small damselfly has been found in a few counties in north Mississippi and in one Alabama county; it is apparently extremely uncommon in our region. The breeding habitat is small seepage streams and trickles, or side pockets of small, spring-influenced forested streams, often in association with Sphagnum.
