Expected to occur throughout both Alabama and Mississippi and common in a variety of habitats.  Easily identified by dark upper surface with bright orange bands across the forewing and trailing edge of hindwing.  Lower surface of hindwing mottled with brown and black markings.  Red band of forewing visible on lower surface.
