HORACE'S DUSKYWING
Erynnis horatius
Large, common duskywing that is found throughout Alabama and Mississippi, flying from spring to fall. Upper surface of males uniformly brown with small white spots, including one at the end of the cell. Upper surface of females more distinctly patterned in brown and gray, with large glassy spots including the one at the end of the cell. Lower surface of hindwing brown with no white spots. Similar species: Juvenal's Duskywing
