This species is probably restricted to the northern half of both Alabama and Mississippi.  Dorsal surface of both wings orange with black markings, the orange deepening to brown towards the base of the wings.  Lower surface of hindwing with silvery spots on an orange background and a tan or cream submarginal band.  Similar species: Gulf Fritillary and Diana Fritillary (male)
