Probably restricted to the northern half of both Alabama and Mississippi.  A distinctive species with checkered orange, black, and white markings.  Some believe this species to consist of two subspecies based upon both physical and habitat differences.  The photos included here are of the form that inhabits wetlands and uses Turtlehead as the host plant.
